1. Membership Eligibility
Membership in SICOCUSA is open to students who:
- Are currently enrolled in recognized universities or colleges in Kenya
- Are natives of Siaya County or have substantial connections to the county
- Commit to participating in at least one of our five focus areas
- Adhere to our code of conduct and organizational values
- Engage with their local college chapter where available
2. Chapter Participation
Members affiliated with our 30+ college chapters agree to:
- Attend at least 60% of chapter meetings each semester
- Participate in at least two SICOCUSA activities annually
- Represent the organization professionally on campus
- Support chapter leadership in organizing local initiatives
- Contribute to chapter sustainability and growth
3. Program-Specific Terms
Participation in our focus area programs requires:
- Greening Siaya: Commitment to tree nursery maintenance, planting, and monitoring protocols
- Tech4Change: Completion of required training modules and skills assessments
- Siaya Mentorship Network: Regular contact with mentees/mentors and progress reporting
- Healthy Horizons: Adherence to confidentiality agreements and ethical guidelines
- Siaya Youth Voice: Non-partisan engagement in civic activities
4. Code of Conduct
All members are expected to:
- Treat all members with respect and dignity
- Embrace diversity and practice inclusion (60% of opportunities support young women)
- Maintain high ethical standards in all activities
- Support SICOCUSA's alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Represent the organization professionally in all settings
5. Data and Intellectual Property
By participating in SICOCUSA:
- You grant permission for collection of participation and impact data
- You allow use of anonymized data for program improvement and reporting
- You agree that materials created for SICOCUSA programs may be shared within the organization
- You respect the intellectual property rights of SICOCUSA and its partners
